The term has recently become a buzzword around the world, and companies like Meta (formerly Facebook) and Microsoft are trying to get a stake in the future of the Metaverse by developing new products and experiences. Metaverse is actually a virtual environment where users can interact with each other through their personal and animated avatars.

The first marriage ceremony in Metaverse!
Danish Kashtrian, who works as a project consultant at Madras University of Technology, India, recently announced his marriage on Metaverse on Twitter. Both Kashtarian and his fiancee are big fans of Harry Potter and therefore they have decided to hold their wedding ceremony in a Harry Potter themed environment.

The idea of holding a wedding ceremony online is not new, and in 2020, when people were confined to their homes due to the sharp increase in the number of coronavirus cases, we saw many people celebrating occasions and organizing parties online. and did different events. In this context, the governor of the state of New York even approved an executive order to allow marriage on the Zoom application!

However, a marriage celebrated in the Metaverse should definitely be different and more interactive than a simple and boring Zoom video call. Here, guests can interact with each other in a virtual environment (in this case, Hogwarts Castle!). It is worth noting that this wedding ceremony will be held on the Polygon blockchain in cooperation with the TardiVerse startup Metaverse.

The Indian couple's Metaverse event is scheduled for February 6 (17th of Bahman) and guests will be able to choose their avatar and customize their outfits from Indian to Western wear before joining the festivities.

Regarding the wedding gifts, guests can give their gifts to the lucky couple in the form of digital payment and even digital currency. Catering with all kinds of food is very common in Indian culture, but certainly you can't expect to eat food in the metaverse! Although symbolic foods are intended for avatars!
